La patologia maxil\u00b7lofacial en l&#8217;art universal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>El passat 2 de desembre va tenir lloc en la Reial Acad\u00e8mia de Medicina dels Illes Balears (RAMIB) la confer\u00e8ncia del Dr. Florencio Monje, titulada \u201cEl rostre malalt. Il\u00b7ltre. Sr. Pere Ritord Sbert va presentar al Dr. Monjo, destacant la seva traject\u00f2ria cl\u00ednica i la seva aportaci\u00f3 a l&#8217;estudi de la patologia maxil\u00b7lofacial des d&#8217;una perspectiva interdisciplin\u00e0ria que connecta medicina, art i hist\u00f2ria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>La pintura com a document m\u00e8dic<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durant la seva intervenci\u00f3, el Dr. Monjo va explicar que el nucli del seu treball consisteix a mostrar com, en nombroses obres de la pintura universal, es representen patologies facials recognoscibles per a un especialista en cirurgia oral i maxil\u00b7lofacial:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"677\" src=\"https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje3-1024x677.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6926\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje3-1024x677.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje3-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje3-768x508.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje3-696x460.jpg 696w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje3-1068x706.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje3-635x420.jpg 635w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje3.jpg 1350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Va explicar com en la pintura apareixen moltes d&#8217;aquestes patologies en quadres coneguts i com un cirurgi\u00e0 maxil\u00b7lofacial pot detectar tumors, fractures, deformitats o llavi lepor\u00ed. A trav\u00e9s de la pintura fem un treball de divulgaci\u00f3 de l&#8217;especialitat\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A partir d&#8217;una exhaustiva an\u00e0lisi de retrats hist\u00f2rics, Monjo va exposar com uns certs signes \u2014a vegades discrets, altres vegades molt evidents\u2014 permeten deduir diagn\u00f2stics compatibles amb patologies crani-facials, convertint alguns llen\u00e7os en aut\u00e8ntiques \u201chist\u00f2ries cl\u00edniques\u201d visuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>El tractament de la patologia maxil\u00b7lofacial<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El conferenciant va detallar que la major part d&#8217;aquestes patologies s&#8217;aborden quir\u00fargicament:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLa majoria s\u00f3n quir\u00fargiques: els tumors es tracten amb cirurgia, les deformitats tamb\u00e9, i el mateix ocorre amb les malalties de les gl\u00e0ndules. \u00c9s una especialitat molt \u00e0mplia i cada vegada hi ha m\u00e9s necessitat de cirurgians maxil\u00b7lofacials\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"677\" src=\"https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje5-1024x677.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6930\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje5-1024x677.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje5-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje5-768x508.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje5-696x460.jpg 696w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje5-1068x706.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje5-635x420.jpg 635w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje5.jpg 1350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Va indicar a m\u00e9s que alguns trastorns intraorals \u2014com els problemes derivats dels queixals de l&#8217;enteniment o els quistos mandibulars i maxil\u00b7lars\u2014 tamb\u00e9 formen part del camp de la cirurgia oral i maxil\u00b7lofacial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Del museu al diagn\u00f2stic: com va n\u00e9ixer aquesta l\u00ednia de recerca<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Dr. Monjo va relatar com el seu inter\u00e8s per la hist\u00f2ria de l&#8217;art va influir en la seva formaci\u00f3, especialment durant la seva etapa a Madrid:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quan se suspenia un quir\u00f2fan, el meu cap ens manava al Museu del Prado. Ell em va indicar que observ\u00e9s les pintures negres de Goya, on hi ha moltes deformitats facials. A partir d&#8217;aqu\u00ed vaig comen\u00e7ar a treballar en el tema\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"677\" src=\"https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje4-1024x677.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6928\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje4-1024x677.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje4-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje4-768x508.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje4-696x460.jpg 696w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje4-1068x706.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje4-635x420.jpg 635w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje4.jpg 1350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>D&#8217;aquella experi\u00e8ncia va n\u00e9ixer primer un estudi sobre les deformitats facials en les obres de Goya, i posteriorment El rostre malalt, fruit d&#8217;anys de recerca i visites a museus de tot el m\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Exemples de patologia en grans obres d&#8217;art<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre els exemples exposats, va destacar el retrat de Lady Gold per Gustav Klimt, on petites taques i trets facials permeten recon\u00e8ixer signes compatibles amb la cardiopatia i els problemes de salut que va patir la retratada. Tamb\u00e9 va esmentar diversos casos de la dinastia dels \u00c0ustria, en els retrats dels quals s&#8217;aprecia de manera molt evident el prognatisme caracter\u00edstic de la fam\u00edlia:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"677\" src=\"https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje7-1024x677.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6932\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje7-1024x677.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje7-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje7-768x508.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje7-696x460.jpg 696w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje7-1068x706.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje7-635x420.jpg 635w, https:\/\/ramib.org\/oficial\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/monje7.jpg 1350w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Els retrats de Felip II, Felip III, Felip IV o Carles II mostren grans deformitats molt evidents\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aquestes an\u00e0lisis es complementen amb l&#8217;estudi biogr\u00e0fic del retratat, la qual cosa a vegades permet relacionar les troballes pict\u00f2riques amb malalties documentades o fins i tot amb la causa de mort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>El retrat com a eina cl\u00ednica<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Dr. Monje va explicar que la clau d&#8217;aquesta mena d&#8217;estudi \u00e9s l&#8217;observaci\u00f3 detallada, combinada amb la recerca hist\u00f2rica:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEl primer \u00e9s observar, per\u00f2 a m\u00e9s es complementa amb l&#8217;estudi del personatge.
